"People of Action" Podcast - a place where service, community, and impact come to life, produced at the BCTV Berks studio.
 

 The Rotary Youth Exchange program provides students the opportunity to live with a host family to learn a new language and discover another culture. Exchange student Cam and host parents Jon & Alison talk about the activities they’ve shared in the past year – from shoveling snow to visiting the Capital to watching American football. They also discussed the anxieties that are part of leaving one’s home country and how rewarding the experience can be. Watch Here

2026 Berks County Field of Heroes

2026 Berks County Field of Heroes Heartfelt Tribute to Heroes in our lives! 

A field of flags. A walk with purpose. A moment to honor the heroes in our lives. 

A spectacular 2026 Berks County Field of Heroes display from June 29 through July 6, presented by the West Reading-Wyomissing Rotary Club welcomed everyone that visited the Wyomissing Stone House Pond and walked the trails an opportunity to reflect on the dedicated U.S. Flags. A celebration ceremony held on July 2, featured inspiring speeches from local officials and community leaders. The West Reading-Wyomissing Rotary Club is grateful for the incredible collaboration in making the 2026 Berks County Field of Heroes experience a success for the local community. Together, we have created a powerful tribute that inspires us all by honoring our heroes.

Environmental Recyclables Project 
Recycle your household plastic bags & plastic wrap into earth-friendly composite decking and railing!
 
 
The West Reading-Wyomissing Rotary Club with our Wilson School District Interact Club has started a Community Recycling Challenge. For acceptable plastic recyclables see information below for NextTrex flier.  Bring your recyclables to our Wednesday meetings for collection, the 1st and 3rd Wednesday at Noon at the YR Club.  All plastic must be clean, dry and free from food residue. Rotarian Dana Riegel is coordinating collection and with her committee who will take care of the weighing, logging and disposal of collected plastic..

Free Little Libraries
Little Free Libraries inspire the love of reading, promote the joy of learning, exploring new worlds, and dreaming of new possibilities!
 
The West Reading-Wyomissing Rotary Club used a grant from Rotary International Foundation to establish five (5) registered Little Free Library book sharing boxes to be a resource for our community. We continue to collect both children and adult books in both English and Spanish to be place in our Little Library boxes.  If you would like more information or are able to donate books, please contact fellow Rotarian Linda Mackey: snowwhite014@gmail.com or 609-870-2437.

So what exactly is Rotary?  
 
I wish we had an easy one sentence answer. The fact is Rotary means different things to different people. At its core, Rotary is an International Service Organization. Rotarians meet several times a month, some clubs have very formal and program-oriented meetings, some are more of a social gathering.
 
At the end of the day, Rotarians commune around a common cause of Service Above Self. Rotary Clubs seek to improve their communities through volunteer work and fundraising. Most people that take advantage of all that Rotary can offer build friendships and relationships that last for a lifetime. Like anything else in life, you get out of Rotary what you want to put into it.
 
I urge you to visit www.Rotary.org, the website for the Rotary International Organization. You can see the multitude of ways we serve around the globe and understand the opportunities that exist for whatever philanthropic passion you may have.
